CHALFONTS
Landscaping
The wall render colour and porcelain tiles matched perfectly to give a seamless feel
The brief was to create a perfect spot for a morning coffee
We created raised flower beds to break up the view from house to garden
12 large pots along the patio allow us to swap the plants and add seasonal colour
Flowers and scents now surround the outdoor dining area
The brief
Our brief was simple, our client wanted somewhere to enjoy a morning coffee surrounded by nature, and a finish that was easier to keep clean than the Indian Sandstone which had come with the house.
How we unlocked the scheme
The problem with the existing garden was that the flower beds where small and planted with low lying box hedges with no colour. From the house all you could see were small lumps of green falling away into the lawn. The key here was to build beds big enough to house larger plants and raise the beds so when sitting having a coffee on the patio, the flowers were at eye height. The walls of the beds then allowed for additional lights to be installed, and the patio area can now be used for evening dining as well as morning coffee.
Before renovation
The patio was crumbling sandstone. The beds flanking the patio were flat and were allowing for shrub like box plants to grow, but with no height or colour.
